The other category of bad debt credit cards are nothing unusual, they are the same cards that we know of most commonly; the only difference is in the way you get them and the objective behind getting them. Here, we are talking about the credit cards that you use as a debt consolidation mechanism i.e. consolidating bad debt (as such any debt is bad). So we can call them bad debt credit cards too. These operate by transferring of the balance you owe on your current, high interest credit cards to these bad debt credit cards that have a lower APR (at least for some initial period). Hence, these bad debt credit cards help you in consolidating your debt and getting some relief from the higher APR that you were experiencing on your current card.

Some people accept both of the above categories of credit cards as bad debt credit cards while others tend to go with one or the other. So, what you regard as a bad debt credit card is really a matter of personal choice.

Bad debt credit card is basically a credit card that the credit card suppliers offer to the people who have bad debt. Did that astonish you? Well, don’t let your thoughts run just yet.

You can classify bad debt credit cards into 2 categories based on what you understand by bad debt credit card. The first category of bad debt credit cards is those credit cards that are secured (and are also known as secured credit cards). These bad debt credit cards require a security i.e. you have to open (and maintain) a bank account with the bad debt credit card supplier. The credit limit on your bad debt credit card is calculated as a percentage of the balance you hold in the bank account you have opened with bad debt credit card supplier. Generally, this is 50-100% of your bank account balance. So, this bad debt credit card enables you to spend the amount you hold in your bank account; only the way you spend it changes (i.e. instead of spending that as cash you spend it using your bad debt credit card). So bad debt credit card lets you enjoy the convenience and other benefits that are associated with credit cards, even with a bad debt. This security is as such important for the bad debt credit card supplier; after all how can you trust someone who has a bad credit rating.

With the fast pace of our everyday lives, we don’t have time for anything really. This is where the combined power of commerce and technology comes in. The capability to apply online for a credit card is one such example. Yes, you can apply online for a credit card. The revolution behind providing you with the ability to “apply online for credit card” is called “internet”. You can not only apply online for credit card but also use your credit card to do online shopping (and get the goods delivered to your door at no extra cost compared to the local store).

So, it is possible to apply online for a credit card. To apply online for credit card, you just have to fill-in an application form that is presented to you on the website of the credit card supplier (who provides the capability to apply online for credit card). This application form is very similar to the one you would have filled-in in person ñ the details asked are same and the processing of the application is same too. You will find that a lot credit card companies encourage you to apply online for credit card. This is because they save on the costs related to salary of representatives, paper, etc. Moreover, when you apply online for credit card, your details can smoothly flow into the database of the credit card supplier i.e. the manual intervention is minimal when you apply online for credit card. This will in turn lead to faster processing of your application. Though it is not necessarily true, if you apply online for credit card, your credit card might reach you much faster. Moreover, if you apply online for credit card, you save on all the time and hassle associated with approaching a credit card company. Plus, you can compare the credit cards (again online) before you apply online for credit card.

Sometimes I wonder if credit card debt stories are all real until I hear that it’s happening to people I personally know. Few hours ago, while chatting with a blogging buddy about a mutual friend, she spilled the beans about this lady (let’s call her lady techie), a work-at-home mom of two had more than $10K of credit card debts. To make things worse, her husband is now jobless and their MLM company has not been doing well. It looks like she needs a Credit Report Repair advice.

I used to think that lady techie is financially sound as she is always bragging about her latest digital gadgets. If you want to know details of the latest and coolest or most high tech cell phone or digital gadget, she would be the best person to share her tips. Typically, you tend to think that someone who spends thousands of dollars of digital gadgets has no qualms about spending money. But this is not true in the case of lady techie. She, like many, is stuck with huge credit card debts due to overspending and poor management of money. In fact, I’m beginning to think that credit card spending can become an addiction and obsession, even when you are not earning a stable income. To make things worse, people like her can have more than 10 credit cards in their wallets so imagine you owe $2000 on one card, that means you are owing $20K on 10! Wow, that’s alot of debts to pay!

If I were her, I would stop ditch these credit cards for now and consider a debt consolidation plan. Perhaps, she would need to seek credit card debt advice from a qualified financial consultant who can help her with to establish a Credit Report Repair. She needs to think about her two children who would eventually need her financial support in their education expenses. Ending a credit card addiction may be a tough one but with determination and forward thinking, this is a task that is bound for success.
